From Monday 02 July 2007 the practice was merged with that of Lukaitis Partners and I became a consultant with Lukaitis Partners.
You are invited to make an appointment by contacting Joseph Lukaitis, Andrew Zilinskas, Michelle Cupples or Julie Lukaitis and I will then meet with you.

Introducing

WHO AND WHERE AM I?

I commenced in practice on my own account in 1987 after five years as an employee solicitor with law practices in Hawthorn and Camberwell.

My practice has focussed on "property" matters in a wider sense, that is, in addition to real estate property purchases and sales (conveyancing) and associated mortgages, two-lot residential and broad-acre subdivisions, land consolidations, land transfers between partners, domestic property and cohabitation agreements, contracts, loan agreements, wills, powers of attorney, probate and estates matters.

Most of my clients have come from a wide cross-section of the community: individuals both young and not so young, families and partners, and independent business proprietors.

From Monday 02 July 2007 my practice will be merged with that of Lukaitis Partners at 123 Church Street, Hawthorn. See the map on the Contact page.

The objective of the merged practice is always to provide a friendly, speedy and efficient delivery of legal services to all clients at the most economical cost that can be achieved.

HOW CAN YOU CONTACT ME?

Appointments may be made with me simply by telephoning Lukaitis Partners on (0)3 9918 5515.

Always leave a message if I am not immediately available and I will return your call promptly. See Contact page.

In certain instances, where you may be incapacitated, I or another solicitor or para-legal may be able to visit you to obtain your instructions.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Initial interviews of up to 30 minutes duration are free of charge. It is often not possible at the initial interview to tell you the cost of any necessary action as it may not be known at that time just how much work will have to done for you.

In cases where Court proceedings are not involved, an attempt will always be made to give you a firm estimate of costs and out-of-pocket expenses so that you can budget accordingly.

Where the task is quite specific, a quotation will happily be provided.

Costs should always be discussed quite openly, and you should always ask your solicitor or any professional about his or her costs and charges.

For more information on costs, see the Professional Costs page.

WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO YOU?

In the general community there are many legal problems that go unrecognized. The objective of the merged practice is to help you with as broad a range of problems encountered in everyday life, for instance -

Buying or Selling a home:

You should consult us before you go to the real estate agent.

Please review the information concerning the Jenman "Real Estate Consumer Protection Guarantee" before you appoint a real estate agent to sell your property.

Wills and Estates:

Marriage generally makes an earlier Will invalid but separation does not. Have you separated or divorced without changing your Will?

Have you and your domestic partner made a Will? If so, has it been reviewed recently? If you have not made a Will, you or your domestic partner may have no right to stay in your shared home or to have any say in your medical care or funeral arrangements.

Frequent changes in your circumstances and perhaps the law, make a regular review of your Will a necessity. Has your Will been reviewed in the last 3 to 5 years?

Contracts and Agreements:

Are you aware that do-it-yourself and documents downloaded from the internet may not protect you adequately and in some cases may not even be valid in Victoria?

Ensure that arrangements between you and your domestic partner are clearly documented and before signing any agreement, be certain of its effect upon your rights and liabilities.

You should consult a lawyer before signing any guarantee as guarantor.

Motor Car accidents:

Early action is necessary to recover damages or minimize claims against you. Always record the other party's details and witness details immediately and make careful notes and sketch plans of the circumstances and scene and any conversations as soon as possible.

Property:

All property matters, including broadacre or residential subdivisions and consolidations or off-the-plan transactions promptly attended to.

Please note:

Where a problem is not within our wide experience or expertise, we will always do our utmost to refer you to another experienced and friendly lawyer.

Generally, Criminal Law, Family Law and Traffic Offences are referred to a lawyer experienced in those areas of the law.
